What is Sweeps?
Sweeps is the best way to hire college students. Customers post hourly work, internships, and full-time work (see careers page) with Sweeps daily, and these jobs are broadcast by email and text message to Sweepers. Any Sweeper that wants the job replies back, and the highest ranked Sweeper that replies back is awarded the job.
How do I become a Sweeper?
1. Apply online
2. Once approved, you will receive an email requesting an in-person or video interview.
3. Once your interview is approved, pass a quiz and join our texting and email groups.
4. Get to work!
What are the hours?
Up to you. We broadcast jobs to Sweepers based on location and skill. If you want to work, you reply back and we will let you know if you are awarded the job. There is no penalty to working sparingly, and you only compete for the jobs you want.
How are jobs awarded?
It is heavily based upon your Sweeper Ranking, but there is also room for other variables like equipment, availability, and experience. For example, a holiday gift-wrapping job was awarded to a new Sweeper whose mother used to own a gift wrapping store.
How does payment work?
Payments are distributed every Tuesday via PayPal. Sweepers must fill out a get paid form asap after the job and payments are based upon hours worked, travel time, the job itself, and gratuity if applicable. Sweepers averaged over $14 per hour in 2011.
Do I need to be a college student?
Apply to see if you qualify.
What kind of internships are available at Sweeps?
Internship responsibilities include marketing, recruiting, finance, PR, social media and more. If you’re interested in working in a startup, this is a fantastic opportunity to learn and get school credit if you need it. The Sweeps Ambassadors program is also a great option–get paid for spreading the word!
Do I need supplies or equipment?
No, but you will be more likely to be awarded jobs if clients need supplies provided. Clients have the option to indicate what equipment is needed, and what they will pay for you to provide it.
I’m graduating/moving/don’t want to work anymore–how do I stop hearing about jobs with Sweeps?
To unsubscribe to Sweeps’ text service, text “stop” to 292929.
To stop receiving emails from Sweeps, scroll to the bottom of a Sweeps email and follow the directions to unsubscribe.
Help! I’m having trouble subscribing/responding to texts!
A few Sweepers have had trouble joining our mass texting service. Unfortunately, we cannot manually add Sweepers–you must opt in. According to the support staff of our texting service, the best thing to do is to call your provider (Sprint, Verizon, etc.) and ask them to make sure texting to and from six digit numbers is enabled.
If you cannot respond to texts from the 292929 number, you can still respond to our local number (919) 628-0828 and we will see your response!
Help! I’m having trouble joining the Google group!
You must have (and be logged into) a Gmail account to join the Google group. If your Gmail account is not your primary email, you can set up a filter to forward job emails into your school account.
